Closed Guard Series


For the month of January we will be reviewing concepts from closed guard ( including some pertinent half guard positions):

  1. Breaking posture -via 2 hand grip to lapel and cross collar and cross sleeve techniques

  2. Flower sweep with wrist control

  3. Knee trap sweep from half guard *

  4. Over head sweep from half guard*

  5. Choke from Side Scissor position

  6. Getting to side scissor position

  7. Chokes from closed guard ( 4 basic chokes )

    • Basic standing grip break to arm drag drill

    • Standard warm ups including; shrimps, hindu push ups, technical stand ups, log splitter passing to side control and baseball slide in back to standard position.
